Professor John Packer in Brussels for Meetings on the Rhohingya Genocide

John Packer in Brussels

On 10 and 11 October, 2019, John Packer, HRREC Director and Neuberger-Jesin Professor of International Conflict Resolution, visited Brussels for meetings on the Rohingya genocide and delivered two talks at the Katholieke University of Leuven where he was hosted by Professor Jan Wouters who lectured at uOttawa last January term.

The first talk was delivered over lunch with senior scholars and advanced post-graduate students considering prospects for a case at the International Court of Justice, under the Genocide Convention, against Myanmar resulting from the Rohingya genocide. Prof Packer then delivered a lecture for Law students on international developments in support of constitution-making or reform, drawing on Prof Packer's own broad professional experience.
