Ph.D. candidate in Law and HRREC member, Omid Milani, attended the 2015 Galway International Summer School on the Arts and Human Rights representing HRREC in Ireland from July 9 to 11, 2015.
It addressed a variety of subjects regarding the arts and human rights and the connection between them. The program included general sessions and panels where participants were invited to present their work based on three themes: music, literature, and visual arts. Keynote speakers addressed issues such as modern museums and their role in juxtaposition of the arts with human rights, and the current situation in Northern Ireland and how the arts can transcend the political barriers in that context.
Some of the debates and news on the summer school are shared on the Twitter page of the event.
