Human Rights in the XXIst Century: Which Choices Will You Make?
Conflicts targeting civilians, migrant and refugee crisis, extractive industries, repression of human rights defenders, toxic speeches, mass surveillance, fight against terrorism, climate changes… The limits of what is acceptable are pushed and false choices are numerous: security or human rights, development or human rights. The challenges are close to us and we can take action. This is what Amnistie does in this sense.

- Béatrice VAUGRANTE | Executive Director, Amnistie Internationale Canada Francophone
Béatrice Vaugrante is the general director of Amnistie internationale Canada francophone since 2006. Under her direction, the section decided to be involved particularly in the defence of indigenous peoples' rights, the promotion of economic and social rights, and the development of a greater involvement of the public about human rights questions. She took part in different missions, lately in Liban concerning the refugee crisis. Béatrice is a member of the global management team, which assists the Secretariat-General of the Movement. She was awarded the “Hommage 40è anniversaire de la Commission des droits de la personne et de la jeunesse du Québec” in 2015. She holds a MBA from HEC Paris.
