Jacob Tatsitsa Attends a Symposium in Paris

On June 27 and 28, 2018, Jacob Tatsitsa, HRREC student member, attended the International Symposium “Décolonisation et enjeux post-coloniaux de l’enfance et de la jeunesse (1945-1980)” held at the Université d’Angers-Paris. He presented his paper entitled “Résistances et accommodements des jeunes subalternes à la construction de la Françafrique : Le cas de la Jeunesse démocratique camerounaise, 1955-1971”.

Jacob was able to attend thanks to the HRREC Student Travel Fund, and the financial aid of the Faculty of Arts and the Department of History at the University of Ottawa. Jacob is a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Meredith Terretta, Associate Professor in History and Gordon F. Henderson Chair in Human Rights.
