HRREC Director John Packer Comments on Canada's Obligations Towards 47 Canadians in North-East Syria

HRREC Director John Packer comments on Canada's obligations towards 47 Canadians (including 26 young children) languishing in North-East Syria following the collapse of ISIS. Pursuant to UN Security Council resolutions on anti-terrorism, and on the basis of human rights and humanitarian norms, Canada should be acting like 20 other States to take up our responsibility to protect the innocent and to act against those who have committed crimes. A recent report by Human Rights Watch details the matter.
