In celebration of International Women’s Day, The Human Rights Research and Education Centre is seeking proposals from local artists who wish to contribute to the event:
The Arts & Women’s Rights
Event contributors will each have a half-hour to engage with a contemporary issue related to women’s rights through an exhibition, performance or discussion of their artistic work. The artists decide which issues to tackle, and how to use their allotted time!
We invite proposals from artists representing any form of media, including but not limited to visual artists, story-tellers, slam poets, stand-up comedians, film-makers, dancers, singers, musicians and digital artists.
How to Apply
Please send a one-page proposal and a picture, recording or Internet link to a sample of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 23rd, 2015. The event will occur in early March (date TBA).
Your proposal should describe: (i) how you will use your half-hour to examine an important issue related to women’s rights, and (ii) any equipment or materials you will require.
