April 17-18, 2014 – Professor John Packer “Preventing Violence in Venezuela: Some Considerations for an Effective Dialogue”

Prof. John Packer, Director of the Human Rights Research and Education Centre, will present the Keynote address to the Seminar “Venezuela Today” at Princeton University on April 17-18, 2014. The seminar aims to examine different perspectives on Venezuela, in order to move beyond the increasingly violent social and political division and polarization within the country. The event will gather different personalities from the professional and academic world in Venezuela, Canada and the United States. Prof. Packer’s address will be entitled “Preventing Violence in Venezuela: Some Considerations for an Effective Dialogue” and will focus on options for structured dialogue respecting human rights and drawing on peace processes from elsewhere in the world.
