This project falls within the Centre’s Arts and Human Rights Program.

Jigsaw Day entails making an oversized puzzle and having fun meeting new people from all around the world. The shapes used come from decomposing the flags from uOttawa student nationalities mixed with universal symbols. The symbols used in the game are:

  • Flame for Human Rights
  • Balance for Justice
  • Heart for Love
  • Dove for Peace
  • Light Bulb for Ideas & Creativity
  • Handshake for Unit & Cooperation
  • Tree for Mother Nature & Life
  • United Nations Flag for the World

The visual result of the jigsaw is going to be photographed and printed onto a large-scale vinyl banner as the final artwork of the outreach project.
