This is an opportunity for students, alumni and any other person interested in Human Rights to hear about notable practitioners who will share their professional experience with them. Participants will have the chance to ask them questions on their career path and to do networking!

Speaker:

  • Annik LUSSIER REZ | Deputy Director in the Human Rights and Indigenous Affairs Division, Global Affairs Canada

Annik Lussier Rez is a Deputy Director in the Human Rights and Indigenous Affairs Division at Global Affairs Canada. During her time in this division, Annik has served as a negotiator on resolutions at the Human Rights Council (HRC), has worked on Canada’s policies on respect for the rights of LGBTI persons internationally, has led a team responsible for drafting and negotiating the annual resolution on eliminating violence against women and girls at the HRC, and has worked to improve coherence across the Department on human rights, among other files. Annik has an MA in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights (University of Essex, UK, 2011) and a BA in Broadcast Journalism (Concordia University, Canada, 1998). Prior to joining the Department, Annik worked as a journalist both in Canada and internationally.
