The Human Rights Research and Education Centre would like to congratulate Aboubacar Dakuyo, Ph.D. Candidate and HRREC member, who is the recipient of the 2017-2018 Jacques Gaudreau Graduate Scholarship in International Human Rights Law! The project on which Aboubacar is currently working is entitled “La mise en œuvre d’une justice transitionnelle fondée sur les normes locales : cas d’études des normes Dinka et Nuer du Soudan du Sud”.

The Jacques Gaudreau endowment fund was established in 1992 in memory of Jacques Gaudreau (1947-1989), an officer of the Department of External Affairs, by his friends, colleagues and family. As of 2015, the fund was transformed into a graduate scholarship that is benefiting outstanding Masters of Ph.D. students in the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa.
